2017 Delaware Institute for Novice Immersion Principals
posted January 27, 2017
The Delaware Department of Education is excited to announce that registration is open for the 2017 Delaware Institute for Novice Immersion Principals. The institute will be held June 26-28, 2017 and is designed to meet the needs of principals who are currently in their first year leading an immersion program or who will be implementing an immersion program in the fall of 2017. By bringing together novice immersion principals and administrators from across the country, institute facilitators are able to engage participants in three-days of learning focused on building capacity to implement, expand, and sustain immersion programs.
DINIP 2017 offers two new features. First, in addition to the Elementary K-5 Strand, we will also be offering a Middle School 6-8 Strand to specifically address the needs of middle school principals who receive immersion learners in their buildings. Second, DINIP 2017 will include the option of a one-day “Strategic Planning and Visioning” extension session (June 29, 2017) during which time participant teams will focus on individualized plans for full K-12 articulation of their immersion programs.
