NADSFL is an Organizing Partner along with ACTFL of the Leadership Initiative for Language Learning or LILL, which seeks to:

• empower individuals to become agents for change,
• foster a growth mindset focused on effective teaching and learning, and
• purposefully nurture leadership skills, all in the service of learners.

NADSFL’s first Emerging Leader was Christi Gilliland of Tennessee, who participated in the first LILL cohort in 2015. Her action project is the popular monthly NADSFL Cafe.

In 2017, NADSFL sponsored Meredith Clark of Texas for the second LILL cohort and she continued her learning at LILL Summer Institute in 2018. Dr. Clark’s action project is the NADSFL Principles Quick Start Guide, located on the Documents page. Use it to narrow your focus of our comprehensive guiding document, Principles of Effective World Language Programs, also downloadable from the Documents page.
